Hansen’s Disease (Leprosy) Today:  Ending Stigma, Embracing Dignity

This webinar, sponsored by NTNC (in conjunction with the CDC Centers of Excellence), will discuss Hansen’s disease including the history, clinical overview, and treatment. Patient case studies will be presented to illustrate the nursing care provided for persons with Hansen’s Disease.

Objectives:

Following this webinar, the participants will be able to:

  1. Identify at least two (2) risk factors for Hansen’s Disease.
  2. Discuss the stigma historically associated with Hansen’s Disease and strategies utilized today to embrace the patient’s inherent dignity while caring for persons with Hansen’s Disease.
